Experimental streaming service swapping out pixels for less data intensive animated ascii characters.
To stream one season of Friends on Netflix it uses 36.6GB of data and produces 52.64 KgCO2e.
That’s the volume of two double decker buses.

To raise awareness for such an invisible threat we put all ten seasons Friends on our website.
Using our ASCII code it took up less space than a single episode on Netflix.

We've all watched these shows thousands of times. We know every set, every face and every joke
so do we really need every single pixel?

Awarded: Creative Conscience Commended entry.
